Truco, the largest hand-built hose manufacturer in the Southern Hemisphere, combines the highest-quality materials and the latest innovative technology to ensure long-lasting performance in the world’s toughest mining applications.

For over 130 years, global companies in Australia, Africa, Canada, Europe and South America have trusted Truco’s hose solutions.

Looking for mining hose that’s proven to last 3X longer than competitors?

Truco awarded major OEM contract for leading Australian mineral sands mine.

Our Hand-Built Hose Range

Backed by competitive costs and high levels of quality and innovation, our range of hand-built hose have proven to last longer in the toughest conditions.

Soft Wall Hose

Built to withstand the tough mining conditions in Africa, this hose is recommended for transferring abrasive slurry and other water-born abrasives.

This hose has a wire-free construction that includes multiple layers of polyester cords, which allow for flexibility and high pressure. They are, therefore, well-suited to high abrasion-resistant applications.

Typical installations include mineral processing plants and dredging applications where flexibility is required on the delivery side of the pump.

Hard Wall Hose

Built to withstand the tough mining conditions in Africa, this hose is recommended for transferring abrasive slurry and other water-born abrasives.

This hose incorporates a high-tensile wire helix or steel hoops embedded into the carcass. This prevents the hose from collapsing under suction and is, therefore, well-suited for high-end strain applications. It also accommodates movement and misalignment in the pipeline.

Typical installations include tailings lines and mineral processing plants.

T36® Slurry Hose

Built to withstand the tough mining conditions in Africa, where both suction and delivery of highly abrasive material are required and where hose life is a priority.

This hose range can be constructed as hard wall or soft wall and includes Truco’s T36 liner. This liner is the ultimate solution for wet abrasive slurry transfer, where the hose life is a priority. It is preferred over ceramic hose constructions due to its weight and flexibility, without compromising wear resistance.

Typical installations include tailings lines and mineral processing plants, where extreme abrasion occurs or where downtime on changeouts is extremely costly.

Pre-formed Hose Bend

Built to withstand harsh mining and industrial environments in Africa, where both suction and delivery of slurry, weak acids, alkalis, water, and hydrocarbons are required. Hose bends are available at any angle, with 45, 60, and 90 degrees being the most popular. These bends can be custom-built to suit your requirements.

Hose bends incorporate a high tensile wire helix, which is embedded into the carcass of the hose bend, preventing the hose from collapsing under suction. Pre-formed bends are best suited to applications where the minimum bend radius is smaller than that of a straight hose. Typical installations include tailings lines, dredging operations and mineral processing plants.

Trucoflex® Slurry Hose

Built to withstand the tough mining conditions in Africa, where transfer of abrasive slurry and other water-born abrasives are necessary and where split flange couplings are required.

The hose provides the ultimate design flexibility, as it can be cut to length onsite. It incorporates a high-tensile wire helix embedded into the carcass, which prevents it from collapsing under suction and supports the split flange couplings. The built-in flange on one end allows for ease of installation.

Typical installations include mineral processing plants, tailings lines and areas where emergency changeouts are often required.

Ceramic Lined Slurry Hose

Built to withstand the tough mining conditions in Africa, where both suction and delivery of highly abrasive material are required and where hose life is a priority.

This range is constructed as hard wall, and includes ceramic tiles consisting of 92% alumina with a sacrificial rubber liner. This results in an excellent solution for wet abrasive slurry transfer that prioritises hose life. Higher alumina content tiles are available on request.

Typical installations include tailings lines and mineral processing plants where extreme abrasion occurs or where downtime on changeouts is extremely costly.

Concentric/Eccentric Reducer Hose

This range is ideal when two different-sized pipelines need to be connected via a rubber hose to accommodate any misalignment and potentially reduce vibration between the pipeline and pumps or sumps. It is suitable for suction and discharge and typically conveys water or slurry where a smooth flow of material is required between the pipework and the pump.

Its wire-reinforced construction, including multiple layers of polyester cords, allows for flexibility under pressure. Therefore, it is well suited to mineral processing plants, dredging operations, tailings operations, or any pump installation.

Monitor Gun Hose

Developed for harsh African environments to enable re-mining operations to cope with the extreme conditions they operate in.

Built to work at pressures exceeding 4 000 kPa, the range is constructed with steel cord reinforcement, Truco’s patented double flanges for end load strength, and rubber buffers to withstand hose dragging. Monitor gun hose are tested at 6 000 kPa before being sent to clients to ensure safety in these high-pressure environments.

Typical installations are re-mining sites.

Hose Floats

Ideal for use in dredging applications where the hose needs to be floated. This range is easy to install and allows for re-use once the hose needs to be changed out. They can also be used with HDPE pipes and steel pipes.

  • Manufactured from low-density polyethylene (LDPE)
  • Lightweight & large buoyancy
  • Shock resistance, acid & alkali resistance
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Marine-grade galvanised accessories

Wear Monitor Solutions for Slurry Hose

Built to withstand the tough mining conditions in Africa, where advanced warning of possible hose failure is required. This is typically an important factor where production cannot be stopped or where hose failure can result in large changeout costs.

This early warning system can be fitted to all Truco’s abrasion-resistant hose and includes 3 warning options:

  • Basic light indicator model (for manual monitoring)
  • RF wear monitor with Base Station (radio alert)
  • Remote monitoring GSM model (SMS alert)

Why use Truco Hose?

Truco has been a trusted provider of hand-built slurry and mining hose to major industries for over 130 years.

We are a leading global rubber manufacturer and distributor of a range of hose, hose liners, hose end fittings, wear monitoring solutions and hose floats.

Truco has the largest hose manufacturing facility in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the largest hand-built hose production facilities in the world. Boasting over 200 dedicated hose manufacturing employees, we have more than 35 mandrel lines, tailoring our hand-built hose for some of the toughest and most demanding applications worldwide.

We’ve built our reputation on providing the highest-quality solutions, backed by unmatched service agility. We manufacture approximately 2 000 hose per month in our ISO 9001:2015 accredited factory. This equates to approximately 4 000 metres of hand-built hose each month. To meet growing global demand, we expanded our factory to 9 000 m² in 2023. The increase in the size of our capacity of approximately 25% cements Truco as one of the largest, most comprehensive hose supplier across the globe.

We are well-positioned to supply our hose range globally with fast turnaround times.

Why trust Truco – a case study

In 2023, Truco was called by one of the major players in the South African platinum industry to solve an onsite problem.

The client’s imported and high-cost hose were wearing out within a week, costing the mine a fortune in downtime and replacement costs.

Truco dispatched a team of hose engineers to the site, who recommended a ceramic lined hose to combat the excessive wear the mine was experiencing in a specific part of the plant.

Truco’s ceramic lined hose lasted 14 more weeks vs our competitors (1 week), saving the operation a fortune in downtime and replacement costs!

Truco awarded major mining contract in Australia

Truco has been awarded the original equipment supply of rubber hose and bellows for a large mineral sands mining operation in Australia. This is not the first project or mine Truco has supplied in Australia, confirming the trust that Australian miners are placing in our 132-year-old company.

The 300 units of hose and slurry bellows will be produced in Truco’s ISO-approved factory. The factory has over 35 mandrel lines and is currently expanding its capacity further, making it one of the largest hose manufacturing facilities in the world. Truco supplies its products to all continents in the world. Its location, technical ability, quality, and pricing make it an ideal partner for all fluid and bulk materials handling requirements.
