Truco continues to innovate its rubber hose offering. Our latest innovation is an advanced warning system that alerts users before slurry hose failure occurs. Tailored for operation in Africa’s toughest mining conditions where production must be continuous, the hose wear monitoring system is suited for application in dredging operations, tailings lines and mineral processing operations.

The wear monitoring system for slurry hose helps reduce downtime by emitting a signal when a hose becomes worn to a pre-determined thickness (typically 75%). The monitoring unit is activated and sends a signal using one of three alert options – manual monitoring, radio alert and SMS. This helps ensure that hose repairs and replacements are done before total failure occurs, significantly reducing downtime.

The hose or hose bend is pre-fitted with a copper wire matrix within the hose liner. This matrix covers 95% of the hose or hose bend which ends with a universal electrical connector protruding from the hose cover. Wear monitors can easily connect to the wire matrix via the universal Deutsch waterproof connection, known as BMO.
