Truco announces large order wins in Africa

The second order valued at R500 000 was awarded by Munali Nickel, south of Lusaka in Zambia, for use in the new flotation concentrator being constructed to support an underground mine. Munali will produce approximately 8 500 tons of nickel per annum in concentrate from the 900 000 tons per annum underground mining operation.

The company has received new pulp and slurry hose orders from Moma Mineral Sands in Mozambique to the value of R3.9-million for the extension of the operation to new dredging areas. Truco also recently received a large pulp and slurry hose order for the new concentrator for Syama Goldmine in Mali valued at R100 000. The total value of the extension project is R900 million.

Truco's range of pulp and slurry hoses is available in hard and soft wall options and is UV and weather resistant. The range is also available with a variety of inner liners, flanges and Truco designed and patented electronic wear indicators.

Due to increased demand throughout the African continent, Truco has boosted production accordingly, more than doubling outputs in the last five years. A few years ago, the company developed a growth strategy that has resulted in the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Chamdor, Gauteng, by 1200 m² to keep up with demand. The company also recently appointed a dedicated exports sales manager, Edward Battes, to ensure that the products being supplied meet customer expectations.
