Truco announces large order wins in Africa

Transvaal Rubber Company (Truco) has announced a number of large order wins for the supply of pulp and slurry hoses to new mining operations in Africa.

The first order, to the value of R3.3-million, is for the supply of pulp and slurry hoses for the new QIT Minerals Project Mandena, part of the Rio Tinto group, in the south east of Madagascar. The ilmenite mine is currently being constructed at a cost of R5 billion, and completion is anticipated by the end of the year. The hoses are currently being supplied to the mine based on a delivery schedule stipulated by the project engineers. In addition to the pulp and slurry hose order, Truco also received an order for pulp and slurry bends, sleeves and clamps to the value of R1.3-million.
